Urban Policy Development, LLC, ("UPD") is closely affiliated with Kaufman & Canoles Consulting ("KCC") and the law firm of Kaufman & Canoles, P.C. ("K&C"). Both firms operate primarily in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Because of these affiliations, we have a continuing financial and business relationship with the consultants of KCC and the attorneys of K&C who have made a substantial contribution in time, effort, and financial resources toward our success. Despite this affiliation, we are a separate and distinct business from both KCC and K&C with a separate and distinct ownership structure. Accordingly, we are neither practicing attorneys nor part of a law firm and therefore cannot, and will not, offer you any legal advice or services. Rather, our services are separate and independent from the legal advice and other legal services that K&C provides to its clients. In this regard, it is extremely important that you understand that any communications you make with us will not be protected by the attorney/client privilege or be subject to the same strict confidentiality rules that would apply to communications with your attorney.

Because we are affiliated with K&C, we have made it our policy to evaluate whether any of our new clients may have interests which are adverse to, or potentially in conflict with, the interests of K&C or its clients. Please be aware that we may have a need to share information you provide to us with K&C as necessary to check for conflicts of interest.
