TARA BEANER, SENIOR CONSULTANT
Ms. Beaner has over 10 years of experience in the field of special education from the state administrative level to the classroom. Ms. Beaner’s expertise includes the development of policies, regulations, and guidance tools in collaboration with agencies, parents/families, and community stakeholders that address the social-emotional and academic needs of all students. Currently, Ms. Beaner serves as a consultant to the District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education as Business Project Manager to support the expansion and ongoing implementation of the statewide special education data system. Prior to this work, Ms Beaner worked for the Maryland State Department of Education, Prince George’s County School District, as well as several school districts in the Atlanta metropolitan area.Ms. Beaner holds a Bachelor of Science from Bowie State University, a Master of Science from University of Illinois-Champagne Urbana, and is currently a doctoral candidate in the Curriculum and Instruction, Minority and Urban Education Program at the University of Maryland College Park.
