Callie comes to UPD with over a decade of experience in education from the classroom to state to national levels. She currently serves as Director of Strategic Partnerships, leading partnership cultivation and strategy related to UPD’s management consultant efforts.

Prior to joining UPD, Callie most recently served in several leadership and management roles in non-profits focused on supporting states in the adoption of new standards and the development of aligned high-quality state assessment systems for elementary through high school students. At both Parcc Inc. and Achieve, she led a number of initiatives including the development of a national teacher and district leader network, partnerships with the two largest teachers unions in the country, policies and practices to facilitate K-12 and higher education collaboration in the areas of curriculum alignment and placement, a large-scale pilot of classroom-based diagnostic tools, as well as national public review and feedback periods and strategic engagement on partner states.

Callie began her career as a junior high school English teacher in northeastern Japan and middle school reading teacher in Florida. She holds a Bachelor’s in East Asian Studies from Wittenberg University (OH) and a Master’s in Educational Policy and Leadership from the University of Maryland, College Park. Outside of work, Callie co-chairs the board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, DC Region.
