Michele brings nearly 15 years of education leadership and policy experience to UPD, focusing on issues of organizational transformation, programmatic innovation and design, and performance management.
Prior to joining UPD, Michele spent six years with Teach For America as the Vice President of Teacher Leadership Development for TFA-Bay Area, where she helped design and implement an innovative program model, and as Executive Director of TFA-Kansas City, where she raised $5.2M and led significant change management and expansion efforts. Previously, she worked as the interim principal for KIPP:Bridge, policy analyst for the Education Trust-West, and a teacher in both Phoenix and Oakland, and she has worked as a consultant for Rocketship Education, Phoenix Collegiate Academies, AES Charitable Trust, Education Pioneers, Duke University, and New Leaders.
Michele has a B.A. from Duke University, a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Arizona State University, and a Master of Public Policy from the Goldman School at UC-Berkeley.
