Jason is a Senior Consultant at UPD. He brings nearly twenty years of experience as a teacher, instructional coach, curriculum specialist, and administrator. Prior to joining UPD, he served as the Director of Teaching and Learning at Florida State University Schools and as a Senior Director at the Florida Department of Education. As a district leader, he worked collaboratively with principals and teacher leaders to better observers and diagnosticians of teaching and learning. While serving at the state, he led a team charged with supporting the state’s 73 school districts to plan, implement, and assess their professional development and educator evaluation systems. In addition, he was responsible for leading some of the Department’s signature professional learning opportunities for school leaders including the Dr. Brian Dassler Leadership Academy, the Florida Standards Academy, the Instructional Leadership Team Initiative, and the Clinical Education Facilitator Academy. Finally, he spearheaded the development of the State’s instructional coaching standards as well as substantial improvements to its professional development standards and site review process, educator evaluation system, and school principal preparation program standards. 

Jason holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Florida.
